My Story

A Passion for Creativity & Service

Early in life, I discovered I had a creative mind. Drawing and writing stories as a child were easy for me and so much fun! I also loved to act in school plays and sing in school events and in my church’s choir, where I sometimes sang solos. That is, until puberty! I had to drop the singing, as my lyrical soprano voice, turned into something just shy of frog-croaking!

In high school I continued to act in school plays, playing the lead in several productions and winning the Drama Award in my Senior year. I also became a musician and played the drums in several rock bands during high school and college. I continued to feed my acting passion in college, both acting and as stage manager.

After college, I worked in the wholesale automotive parts business, where I honed my creative skills in marketing and advertising, graphic design, retail store design, trade show booth design, and event and retail business management. The experience I gained in those early pursuits, gave me the confidence to found several businesses over the next decade, including; Sign Design and Production, Commercial Interior Design, Architectural Antiques Recycling, and even an unfortunately short-lived Supper Club Restaurant venture, that I built by hand before I was 21 years old. I discovered many years later that I was an “Entrepreneur”! Imagine that! I thought I was just being creative and having fun – and I was!

In the eighties and nineties, at the dawn of Personal Computing, I transitioned into working for a software development company doing training, sales, sales management, and ultimately marketing. This exposure to software development eventually led me to design my own software and start my own, venture-backed, software development firm. My creative juices were really flowing during this period of my life, and I learned to program and design websites in addition to IT Administration skills, mixing left-brain/right-brain activities and developing these unique skill-sets over the next decade. I continued using my graphic and web design, and my technical and IT administrative skills in my one-man consultancy business, until health issues forced me to cut back on these activities in the last few years.

Today, I am focusing more on another creative passion of mine, writing. This includes non-fiction and fiction books, short stories, and essays. At this stage of my life, I am looking to make a positive impact in the world, by developing a host of new ideas and information products that will support that goal.

I’m having more fun than ever using my God-given creative talents, and hard-earned experience in business to make a difference in people’s lives by becoming the positive force that this old world needs. Join me?
